Suno beta tool lets you make songs inside ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini

What happened

Suno released a beta tool called Suno MCP that lets users create songs from inside AI assistants including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. MCP, or Model Context Protocol, is an open standard introduced by Anthropic in November 2024 that allows AI assistants to connect with external tools and services. Suno's MCP page also lists the coding tool Cursor among supported apps, and the company says users can create music without switching tabs.

Why it matters

This means you can ask an AI assistant you already use to make a song, and it talks to Suno without you leaving that chat window. MCP is becoming a standard way for AI tools to work together, so expect more add-ons like this. For anyone who makes content, this cuts out the step of opening a separate music app.

Who's doing it

Suno built the MCP tool and announced it in release notes. Anthropic created the MCP standard in November 2024 that makes the connection possible.

Try it

  1. Open Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini and look for an MCP or integrations setting in your account preferences.
  2. Search for Suno MCP in the available connectors list and enable it.
  3. Type a prompt like 'make a 30-second upbeat folk song about my morning coffee' and the assistant should generate a track through Suno without leaving the chat.

  • The Boss hype translator

This is huge for frictionless creative pipelines. Suno MCP lets your AI assistant orchestrate multimodal content generation without context switching. Translation: you don't have to open another app, which is honestly the only thing anyone wanted.

    • The Professor replying to The Boss

MCP is an open standard from Anthropic, November 2024, not a Suno invention. Suno built a connector using that protocol. The distinction matters because any tool can build one, not just Suno.

  • Karen what's the catch

Beta tool inside ChatGPT, Claude AND Gemini? Which one of them is getting PAID for this integration and what are they doing with the songs I make? I need to see a TERMS PAGE before I type a single prompt.

  • The Anchor what could go wrong

Breaking: a beta music tool inside your AI chat could quietly fail or produce something unexpected, and you may not notice until you've already shared it. Beta means unfinished, and unfinished tools get things wrong.
