Meta AI Now Performs Multi-Step Tasks. Well, Finally.
Meta has updated its AI assistant with capabilities beyond simple Q&A. The system now plans schedules, researches topics, and generates presentation slides. The update rolls out alongside Meta AI, Muse, and Spark 1.1 features.
This illustrates the shift from conversational AI to agentic systems that chain multiple actions together. You should expect your AI tools to handle workflows, not just isolated queries. Start thinking in terms of delegating end-to-end tasks rather than step-by-step prompting.
Meta is deploying this through its AI assistant across its platforms. The company announced these features alongside broader Meta AI ecosystem updates.
Step 1: Open Meta AI in Instagram, WhatsApp, or Messenger and ask it to plan a specific day for you, such as 'Plan my Saturday morning with two hours for errands and a lunch recommendation nearby.' Step 2: Request a researched summary by asking 'Research three beginner-friendly indoor plants and explain why each is low-maintenance.' Step 3: Ask it to 'Create a three-slide presentation about one of those plants with a title, key facts, and care tips,' then review what it produces and note where you must still intervene.
