Bryson DeChambeau Turns Swing Data Into Training Instructions

What happened

Google Cloud built a system that uses deep learning with proprietary 2D and 3D models to track more than 30 key points on the body, club, and ball during each shot. The model records the full sequence from top of swing through impact, follow-through, and finish, then outputs measurable outcomes for every repetition.

Why it matters

Athletes stop guessing and start training against quantified movement data instead of feel. Coaches can replace vague feedback with exact joint angles and timing numbers that update after every swing.

Who's doing it

Bryson DeChambeau has used the Google Cloud system to compare swing metrics across thousands of shots and adjust his mechanics in real time during practice rounds.

Try it

  1. Open Google Cloud Vertex AI and upload 2D and 3D video of your swing.
  2. Run the Pose Estimation model to label the 30 tracked points and generate joint-angle reports.
  3. Export the CSV and compare your impact angles against the stored baseline to decide which drill to repeat. https://cloud.google.com/vertex-ai
