AI Motion Capture Now Owns a Slice of Pro Golf
Bryson DeChambeau led investors who paid an eight-figure sum for Sportsbox AI in April. The company’s 3D Golf app records a user’s swing with a smartphone camera and turns the footage into a motion-capture avatar for analysis.
Athletes and coaches can replace expensive lab rigs with a phone-based workflow. This lowers the barrier to quantitative swing data and forces trainers to treat video as structured input rather than casual footage.
Bryson DeChambeau and his investor group now control Sportsbox AI. The acquisition price reached eight figures and gives the firm capital to scale its avatar pipeline across club-fitting and coaching markets.
Step 1: Download the Sportsbox AI 3D Golf app from the App Store or Google Play. Step 2: Record a full swing from the recommended side angle. Step 3: Review the generated avatar and joint-angle metrics inside the app to identify deviations from a saved reference swing.
