Golf swings now get digitized and dissected by motion-capture AI
Bryson DeChambeau led investors in an eight-figure acquisition of Sportsbox AI in April. The 3D Golf app uses motion-capture to generate an avatar of the user swinging and records more than 30 body, club, and ball keypoints through deep learning. Shot phases such as top of swing, impact, follow-through, and finish are automatically tagged with outcomes.
Users move from subjective video review to objective biomechanical data. This shifts practice from feel-based repetition to targeted correction of measurable swing flaws. Workflows now incorporate quantitative feedback loops instead of vague coaching cues.
Bryson DeChambeau and Sportsbox AI report improved swing consistency metrics among beta users who integrate weekly avatar reviews. The system is already deployed in multiple PGA training facilities.
Step 1: Visit the Sportsbox AI site at sportsbox.ai and create a free account. Step 2: Record a swing video with your phone and upload it to the 3D Golf app. Step 3: Review the generated avatar and keypoint data to identify one angle deviation greater than five degrees, then repeat the swing and compare the new metrics.
