Bryson DeChambeau Uses Deep Learning to Track 30 Body Points for Swing Optimization
Google Cloud's system applies deep learning with proprietary 2D and 3D models. It tracks over 30 keypoints on the body, club, and ball while recording swing phases such as top of swing, impact, follow-through, and finish.
Users learn that video alone is insufficient for performance gains. Structured keypoint tracking converts subjective feedback into measurable biomechanical data that can be compared across sessions.
Bryson DeChambeau partnered with Google Cloud to test the system on his own swings. The collaboration produced quantifiable swing metrics that DeChambeau now references during training adjustments.
Step 1: Open Google Cloud's Sports AI demo at cloud.google.com/solutions/sports-analytics. Step 2: Upload a swing video and enable 2D and 3D keypoint detection. Step 3: Review the generated report showing 30 tracked points and phase timings to identify one measurable change for your next session.
