Bryson DeChambeau Trains Swing Mechanics with Google's 3D Pose Tracker
Google Cloud's system runs deep learning models that detect over 30 body, club, and ball keypoints in both 2D and 3D video frames. It labels swing phases such as top of backswing, impact, and finish, then records ball flight outcomes for each repetition.
Users stop relying on subjective feel and begin replacing it with repeatable kinematic data. Workflows shift from post-round video review to frame-by-frame comparison against stored swing templates.
Bryson DeChambeau partnered with Google Cloud to log every range session; the resulting dataset now guides real-time club-path adjustments during practice.
Step 1: Open Google Cloud Video AI at https://cloud.google.com/video-intelligence. Step 2: Upload a 1080p swing video and enable Pose Detection. Step 3: Export the JSON keypoint file and import it into a spreadsheet to compare shoulder-hip angles across sessions.
